Richard Ashcroft is the only confirmed Live '27 support act at all 42 shows. Cast and Primal Scream are rumoured only, from Instagram posts reported by The Sun on 29 October 2026.

Only one Live '27 support act is confirmed: Richard Ashcroft, at all 42 shows. Cast and Primal Scream are rumoured only, after an Instagram creator posted both names and The Sun reported those posts on 29 October 2026. The Sun itself says officially nothing is confirmed, and no band announcement backs either name.

What the leak actually says

Instagram creator Gavin Leigh Davis posted two updates, according to The Sun. The first read Oasis support 2027 Cast, and the second was captioned Oasis support 2027 Primal Scream. Those two short posts are the full basis for the leak story.

The Sun adds a track record for the creator, including festival line-ups that later proved correct. That history makes the posts worth reporting, but it does not turn them into a band announcement. A creator with past correct leaks can still be wrong on a new post.

Readers should also ignore the tour schedule printed inside the same Sun article. It lists 38 nights and the old Paris date of 24 July, with no extra Munich, Rome, or Knebworth dates. The correct schedule is 42 shows, with Paris moved to 20 July and extra dates added on 23 September.

Why Cast fits the rumour

Cast formed in Liverpool in 1992, fronted by John Power, former bassist of The La's. The band's best known songs include Walkaway, Sandstorm, and Free Me, according to The Sun. Their debut album All Change followed in 1995.

Cast also supported Oasis on the Live '25 tour, which gives the rumour a clear precedent. A source in The Sun said it is likely they will sign back up, for that reason. That source quote is speculation, not a booking confirmation.

Bookmakers had already made Cast favourites for Knebworth before this leak. William Hill priced Cast at 5/4 to land the Knebworth support slot, ahead of Manic Street Preachers at 6/4. Betting odds show market opinion, not a signed deal.

What about Primal Scream

Primal Scream are the second name in the leak, with Bobby Gillespie, Andrew Innes, and Darrin Mooney listed as the band in The Sun report. Their best known tracks include Loaded, Movin on Up, and Come Together. The report gives no dates, venues, or show count for their supposed slot.

That gap matters. A support slot can mean one city, one leg, or a full tour, and the leak says none of those things. Until a promoter or the band names a scope, Primal Scream remain a rumoured name with no confirmed shows attached.

What Liam has actually confirmed

Liam Gallagher has said quite a few more support acts will be announced for Live '27. He said so in reply to a fan who felt ticket prices were fair, in a post reported by Radio X. That tease confirms more names are coming, but it names none of them.

Liam has also ruled two acts out in public. He told a fan that DMA'S have not made the list for Live '27.

He separately dismissed Fontaines D.C. as a support act, as covered in our Fontaines post. Those denials show he answers support questions directly when he wants to.

Ashcroft remains the only name with a tour wide confirmation. He is special guest at all 42 shows, from Glasgow on 21 May 2027 to Knebworth on 26 September 2027. Every other support name, including Cast and Primal Scream, sits below that line until an announcement moves it.

What to watch for next

The next real step is an announcement from the band, the promoter, or the support act itself. A leak, a betting price, and a past tour slot all point the same way for Cast, but none of them book a show. Fans should wait for a named announcement with dates.

The Sun says the same creator leaked Sam Fender outdoor summer 2027 shows, with a reaction from the artist and coverage by NME. That history is the strongest reason to take the Cast and Primal Scream posts seriously. It is still not a confirmation, and the post keeps it in the rumour column.

Until that announcement arrives, the safe summary stays short. Ashcroft plays all 42 shows, more names are promised, two names are ruled out, and two more names are rumoured. Anything beyond that summary needs a source that the leak story does not yet provide.
